Piper was a remarkable talent and likely the best natural heel ever to climb inside a ring. Watch his battles with Hulk Hogan from early 1985 and marvel at how he draws the ire of the fans at Madison Square Garden simply by walking down the aisle with a smirk on his face and the swagger in his steps. There are many entertainers working today who would be lucky to garner that kind of emotion from a crowd at the World’s Most Famous Arena. Pro wrestling may be fake, but “Rowdy” Roddy Piper was real.

I’ve seen him hit some guys with a belt.
I saw him when I was like maybe 8 or 9 fight Bobby the brain Heenan at UNO in a steel cage. It was supposed to be against ravishing rick rude but he allegedly had car trouble.

The funniest thing about that body paint (which Piper wore for a Wrestlemania match against African-American wrestler Bad News Brown) is that other wrestlers in the locker room pranked Piper by switching out his special paint remover with something ineffective, which forced him to walk around like that for over a week until the paint wore off.
