I bought a cheap Conserv dryer and a mechanical Speed Queen washer. Both work well. I've really been impressed with the dryer as it was about as cheap an appliance as you can find.
We use the hell out of both.
Ours is more basic than this one.

Did you just purchase?
The OT has been saying for years that LG appliances are shite...and that's one thing I agree with..

It's a great mystery
Modern washers don't get your clothes wet, and then they "efficiently" spin them so that they're nearly dry
and then you put them in a modern dryer, which doesn't get the barely wet clothes dry
Meanwhile China is burning lignite to charge up electric cars

On the triangle of dryness, efficiency, and time, these bitches went all in on efficiency, so the tradeoff is time. You are never going to get a quick dry.
somebody explain this to me. Is it more efficient to take 50 minutes to dry a load of clothes over 30 minutes? or 15 minutes to preheat the oven vs. 7 minutes? aren't you using the same amount of electricity?

Clicked on this thread thinking it would be about a different type of dryer… So anyway, i took this pic of one of those hand-dryers today in an airport i was laying over at in Asia.. as i was trying to dry my hands with it, i realized i was blocking the only entrance/exit to the men’s room.. usually imo Asian countries do almost everything better- but this was the worst design choice ive ever seen .. and of course the dryer barely worked so wound up drying my hands on my jeans .. . fwiw im 187 cm and 89 kg, so im not *that* big- the entrance is narrow .

Also took a pic of this which was next to it.. not sure what it was, didnt take time to find out, just thought it looked interesting .

Paid an ex gf 2500 for her fancy samsung set just so shed have move the frick out of here money. The small simplified ropers i put in my rental work better, just a lower capacity.
I ignore all the cycles and do timed dry for 90 minutes. No doubts allowed

Yet another appliance luddite. You must be semi-retarded; you probably let your wife pick the appliances. My 18 month old LG has 20, 40, and 60 minute timed dry, that don't stop until the timer is up. Turn on spin dial, hit "go."
Soooo complicated.

We had one of those LGs that did that crap too before it finally died. It was a piece of shite.
Bought a Speed Queen after that. It's just a simple, no-frills dryer that actually works. It reminds me of the older appliances from the 80s and 90s.

Believe it or not, that looks like a high end drinking water filter.

We bought a used Maytag washer and dryer set last week for $499 plus delivery. None of the irritating bells and whistles.

I owned a new set of LGs once, only once. Got rid of them and only use a basic dryer that I can easily change the heating element/fuses on it myself.

I rarely use the settings that are censor centric. I use the timed heat and set it an hour.

Stop buying shite with features you don’t need and they’ll eventually stop making them. Same with vehicles. Humans are idiots tho.

I've gone through 3 washers in 20 years. Still on the same dryer.

Can’t say I know anyone that still has a clothes line. I cut my mom’s clothes line down recently after a bunch of birds shite on her freshly-washed sheets!
