CNN Breaking News: Deadly cobra on the loose in central Florida

quote:

(CNN)The search continues for a deadly cobra that escaped from an enclosure at the home of its owner in Ocala, said the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).

quote:

An FWC investigator, Ocala police and Marion County Fire Rescue couldn't find the reptile, the commission said

quote:

"Public safety is the number one concern," Klepper said. "We wanted to emphasize that this is a venomous snake and a dangerous animal and should not be approached."

quote:

If someone were to be bitten by the escaped cobra, they would need to get to the hospital as fast as they could and be treated with the appropriate anti-venom, he said.

quote:

Thankfully, Corwin said, the cobra is probably going to find a spot far away from people and stay there. "The likelihood that anyone is going to be bitten by this snake is very, very low. Unless it gets in your car. "

Snake in the car eh? Lets start thinking like a snake here, alright? You know - you need another snake. That's what you need. Here's what you're going to do. You're going to crack a little hole in your undercarriage- a tiny one, it'll be cool - and then you're going to slip a second snake in with a string tied around it. Those two will become codependent, then you'll rip the second snake out and the first one hopefully, hopefully will follow.

A buddy of mine in college had a pet snake that got out in his car when he was driving it around in the cage.

We tore that car in half looking for it and never found it. Assumed it just got out somehow.

1 month later, it crawls out from behind his glove compartment while he was driving. It was dying and didn't last another day or two. Believe it was a Python.

4 foot long, tan colored snake

Sounds like a GDKC. You should be careful.

If you are in Baton Rouge, head over to George's across from Pastime and tell the someone there with a Texas A&M hat that you'd like to discuss a snake in your undercarriage.
