Al went off the rails and bought Church's when it made no good business sense to do so. So now Popeyes is Canadian and the recipes and seasoning contract will end in a few more years.

Ruth's Chris belongs on that list.

Century Link is on their way out. Most executives live out of state. Most La based employees are call center folks.

You’d think Louisiana would take a hard look at why they keep losing businesses and people to places like Texas and do something about it.
It’s really strange because Louisiana does have things to offer, unlike some other states, but it seems to be ran by a bunch of people who couldn’t care less.
That was the biggest difference I noticed moving from New Orleans to Houston. In New Orleans, the answer was always “it can’t be done”, “we can’t do that”, “nope”. In Houston, the answer is always “yes, we’ll get it done”, “yes, we can do that”. The attitude in Houston is that of optimistic go-getters who want to get things done. In Louisiana it was always a negative “who cares” attitude.

Dallas has a ton of fast food headquarters. They train and steal talent from each other.

The state practically told Century they could go in dry a few years back and kept them around a few more years but once Glen Post stepped down, the writing was on the wall. I am sure the Williams family will do their best to keep it here but that move to Colorado is inevitable. I mean it’s really already started. Most of the upper managers have either moved or been let go due to the acquisition and when it’s done, Monroe will further sink into the abyss.

Whole Foods started in New Orleans on esplanade avenue.

I'm pretty sure that Whole Foods started in Austin.

No, that’s just really wrong.

The Korean man absolutely drove Smoothie King head first into the ground. When I was younger I remember drinking muscle punches and getting big chunks of fruit and banana in every sip, and the Korean dude literally removed real fruit from their ingredients list in favor of nasty arse sugary fruit flavored goop. They “committed” to returning to real fruit but it’s definitely not how it used to be. Sad

Louisiana needs to learn how to code before it's too late
Most of these people can’t self checkout at Walmart. Coding ain’t in their future.
Maybe eating the boxes the computers are shipped in. But nothing technical.

The first Whole Foods was not in New Orleans. It was in Austin. The two owners of Safer Way Foods merged with the two owners of Clarksville Natural Grocery. They opened the first Whole Foods in Austin in 1980. In 1988 they bought a store in New Orleans called The Whole Food Co. Whole Foods and The Whole Food Co were two different companies.
