Smart home" devices are listening to you.

The truth is that none of us are important enough for this to matter.
Agreed. But the issue to me is privacy. I don't want something I do or say in the privacy of my home being able to be accessed by anyone in a company for fun or otherwise. I absolutely hate targeted advertising and selling of my information and avoid it as much as I can. Inviting this type of intrusion into my house is stupid, in my opinion.
Again, it's not that I think I am important in any way...just that I don't want to hand any company a license to snoop on me and my family. Same can be said for anything you search for on Google or things like that. It's not that I have something to hide, it's that I shouldn't have to worry about you tracking my every move.

I really don't care as long as it's company policy not to call the cops.
What about when they do use it to police? Are we just going to usher in an Orwellian society in the name of convenience? The complacency is staggering in this place sometimes.

Exactly. "They are going to do it anyway" does not mean you should leave your keys in the ignition over night and allow someone to steal your car.

but what does this have to do with chemtrails?

Janky, I highly doubt you have the wherewithal, nor the temerity to make such a preposterous remark to my face.

Amazon last night confirmed the staggering revelations - which will unnerve millions of Alexa users across the globe.
Anyone that owns one of these devices and doesn't know their being spied on, deserves to be unnerved.

Well all they'll be hearing from us is the TV. She's right by our TV and she barely hears us tell her to do stuff. They can listen all they want...Nothing earth shattering at my house going on.

I'm fairly certain that the majority of folks don't know that Alexa/Siri keep logs of everything you say.

I deleted Facebook years ago but created a burner with a fake name to read a few articles awhile back. Almost every friend suggestion it sends me are people I know irl. I'm about to whack that one too.

People keep saying it's nothing earth-shattering. Which is pretty naive considering how these devices are starting to be used in court as of last year.

I deactivated mine after I was able to untether my Spotify from FB. Before deactivating I was able to download the profile folder that they have. Which is kind of a weird read. It's everything from places or things I've actually bought to what Facebook thinks I would/go
