My daughter and her friend came over after work. (No pics you pervs) first time seeing her friend. She's not that big. Will a device that you keep on a key chain work? I've seen videos of guys really pissed and they would yank it out of them. Just curious and and hoping she has something that packs more of punch. To many weirdos out at night. Seems like a nice girl.

Zap yourself and report back. Bear spray is better by far.

they do, but they arent disabling, they zap the shite out odf someone to force them to let go of you so you can run away

they are good to have and know how to use to get away after being grabbed, they are useless before being grabbed, so bear spray should be kept handy as well.

I've been zapped by a lawnmower spark plug. It wasn't pleasant. Hope that helps

How many big ones used by police work? That should give you pause…

NO.

Years ago, we got my wife an expensive one from a police store. At a party with some friends, some of my buddies wanted to test it out (this being a drunk thing to do, of course). We watched as a couple fairly large guys wrestled around, zapping each other with it. Neither was disabled, or noticeably fazed by it. You could see solid contact being made, heard the popping/cracking noise, didn't see any staggering. You could see them pull away from contact, but a couple times the guy getting zapped didn't try to pull away, but instead just powered through it to grab the other guy's arm and twist it away.

They both said it hurt and would prefer not to get zapped, but it wasn't enough to make them quit the horseplaying. We started with a fresh battery and they fully discharged it on each other.

Note, I said horseplay with a couple guys drinking beers... it didn't stop that. You change that from horseplay to serious bad intention, and from beer to something more potent; you get the idea.

I think if someone really wants to do something to a vulnerable person, that stun gun will just end up enraging the assailant.

I seen police zap a guy for like 20 minutes. He was on meth we had to kick him out the bar. Kinda surprised his heart didn't burst into flames.

The stun guns sold are a joke. They will not stop an attack, but will make the intended target angry. Spray is better.

Nothing sold commercially knocks people unconscious like in a movie.

Is considered a pesticide by the EPA, which means you shouldn't spray people with it. There's warning labels on the can stating as such. Unless you like being sued to hell and back then by all means, have at it.

Well, if all you are talking about is a one that has the two prongs on it and you have to touch someone for it to work.

Then 50/50. A buddy of mine and i will sneak up on each other zap the shite out of each other every so often just for laughs and i could easily fight through that. It hurts but it’s not gonna stop me from continuing to fight. It only hurts in that one spot and doesn’t effectively lock the whole body up.

But if you have one that fires prongs, you are gonna get a much better spread and affect on the body because the power is spread out and a much wider area that it works on.

Oh and if someone has a sweatshirt or jacket on, the hand held one is gonna do very little because it has to go through all the layers and only affects one spot

This guy is smart while being an idiot. Notice he’s standing against the wall so he can’t fall into it and hit his head. He also probably has some cushions on the floor so he doesn’t hurt himself falling.

My daughter (no pics) asked about one. I suggested spray since you did not need to be super close contact for it to be effective. With the stun you have to be with in arms length.

This! I bought my daughter a lawn mower. She pushes it around everywhere in case she's attacked.
