Slidell kindergartener brought cocaine to school

A teacher at a Slidell school noticed an odd bag of white powder in the hands of a 5-year-old kindergarten student Tuesday morning and alerted a Slidell police officer who works on the campus, according to law enforcement officials.
The powder, Slidell police said, turned out to be cocaine and resulted in the arrests of two people.
Angelica Stanley, 23, and Ellis Cousin, 51, were booked later Tuesday with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and cruelty to a juvenile, the Slidell Police Department said. Their relationship to the child was not specified.
Police said the 5-year-old student also was in possession of two additional bags of crack cocaine. The child had no idea what the substance was, police said in announcing the arrests Wednesday.

Looking at this on the bright side, this story makes it seem that most Slidell kindergartners don't bring cocaine to school.
