I believe they're talking about common sense changes like better background checks so these mentally ill people can't get guns. Can't this even be discussed without people flipping out?

Not in this country.

A direct result of a two party system. It is an all or nothing system. There is no more middle ground and no more common sense allowed in this country.

What's wrong with this protest? Why does anyone need a knife longer than 3"? A knife that long is only meant for intimidation and to increase damage on victims.

Your right to a knife is not protected by the 2nd, so this should be easy to implement.

common sense tells me that more restrictions just hurt the law abiding citizens...but I guess common sense isn't all that common

We've had guns longer than we've had the country. Maybe we should look at what else has changed to get to this point.

Why is this so hard for people to understand?!?!? Every gun debate centers around this fact. Criminals, by definition, break the law. What kind of flowers and unicorns existence to you have to think that just making a law is going to make it all better?

Exactly. Why don't we just outlaw murder, then his daughter would still be alive.

And that we could probably find a common sense solution if it weren't for the NRA owning every politician and every redneck jerking off to their newest AR build?

Every retard in favor of this "common sense gun-control" use this same line. Is it so hard for you all to think this through that you now need to follow a script to come up with your talking points? Please, list these so-called solutions and detail exactly how they work, include your plan for enforcement and funding. Use empirical evidence to back up your claims too.

Don't be silly, we need water to live. We don't need guns or knives to live. We should outlaw glass bottles and baseball bats (unless you have a license) though. They are used far to often in murders.

Every knife in the block on my kitchen is longer than 3 inches.

They should be banned. You can cut things with a 3" knife, it may take a little longer, but think of the lives that would be saved.

I agree greenhouse gas and accidents alone justify us removing these terrible machines from society. We could also solve racist "White Flight" because people would begin moving closer to cities and the jobs.

I know it's controversial, but our gun culture IS the reason why this country has so many more gun deaths than other countries.

its not the gun culture though, there are segments of our society that are just violent, and it doesn't matter what weapon they choose, they will still remain violent after whatever restrictions are placed on guns
