which is exactly why i will never jump out of an airplane. No thanks.

That wasn't a regular sky diver. He had a trick parachute, went upside down and a wind gust blew it back into him.

It looks like he tried to fix the original canopy too long, and pulled his emergency at the last possible second.

He threw out an orange bag shortly after his main collapsed, was that not the backup but it wasn’t inflating or something?

Could someone explain to me how this guy has a floating camera over his head?

360 degree cameras. Check out videos of extreme sports taken with cams like the Insta 360.

To the OP:

That was a terrible mess, quite lucky to get the reserve out and inflated. The only issue I have ever had was a cutaway on my first static line night jump in the Army. Had it been a civilian jump I might have walked away from it but they just kept sending me out the door. Statistically, I have outrun two more cutways in my time so I am more than due but I still jump when I get the chance. It is an incredible feeling free falling but it only really works for people that get a little joy from cheating death. I have never seen anyone not smiling after their first tandem jump. We have video somewhere of my wife's first jump and she couldn't have been having more fun. For me the best part is actually getting out of the plane I am nervous as hell on small craft.

Why are they untangling it? I would have set it on fire for it never to be used again

If you're trying to be cool doing moves on the way down that lead to your parachute being below you, you should expect this to happen at some point.

That was nuts. I could've done without the "scary, intense music" added to it. The situation is scary enough IMO...it doesn't need corny, dramatic music added.

That’s a legit gripe about these viral videos

They always insert shitty techno music when it really doesn’t need it

If I have to hear the ol ‘I tried so hard, but got so far, but in the end, it doesn’t really matter’ shitty techno song again I might lose it

If that were me (which it never would be, because I am terrified of heights), there is no way that I would have survived. That's because I am sure that the chaos of trying to untangle the cords in the face of imminent death would have given me a heart attack while I was still in the air.

What that chute did is called a cigarette roll. (You don’t want that.)

I’d probably have a heart attack if I was in his position.

Did he have to release his emergency by hand? I would have thought it would have been in his pack and pulled via a separate cord? I know nothing about sky diving or parachutes...it just looked overly manual to release the emergency at the end.
