not really.

An elected democrat in a clear blue area switched her affiliation...

That area was the area they were going to give to the freed slaves.

Wonder what it would be like today?

Haiti? DRC?

It was historically black for decades before they were all gentrified out by resorts, golf courses, and rich home owners. Hilton Head is a great example of this.

but it sucks living in the only blueish state in the south.

Georgia voted for Biden and has democratic senators. Louisiana voted Trump and has two republican senators. And I think a Republican will win the next election for governor here too. Just have to put up a decent candidate.

It’s hard to attract investment to an area that refuses to invest in itself. And Louisianan doesn’t really do that anymore.

So far I don’t like our options for governor. But I am cautiously optimistic on the Formosa project making some headway after JBE leaves office.

I am born and raised in BR. The last few years have changed me. I used to defend BR/La but I am throwing in the towel...generally an optimist but I have lost hope

Bidenomics is growing the “middle out”.

That is sarcasm for those of you that lack wit, which there are many.

Plot twist. Scumbag carpetbagging progressives are most likely the main reasons behind the movement!!

Interesting. It seemed that the explosion in Raleigh, Charlotte, etc was getting tough to overcome.

He said progress and growth brings Progressives. You can infer that means money as well, but where is your gotcha here? Progs are bringing money to the South because they seemingly prefer the systems in place here.

Unfortunately the carpetbagging scum has already killed any industry they had in their old stomping grounds. The only problem they will face is the South doesn’t have any industry to destroy.

And they were crappy electricians in the NE and they will remain crappy despite a latitude change.

Seems a little odd to compare contiguous states in the northeast to a ACC states plus Texas.

Not exactly a coherent grouping of states beyond the fact they made up some of the confederacy.

This would be like grouping the northeast plus Illinois for . . . reasons.

Both houses in the Georgia Legislature are solidly red, and both the Gov and Lt.Gov are Republican.

Drive from Auburn, AL to past Charlotte, NC on I-85 and it’s one giant and expanding industrial corridor, of course, including Atlanta.

Yep.

You can also add I-75 from 30 miles south of Atlanta all the way to Chattanooga, w/pockets of undeveloped land sprinkled in.

The Southeastern/Piedmont Megalopolis.
