Use the chart below to determine how many days you are behind the wheel for your daily commute. For instance if your one-way commute is 20 minutes, then you drove for 7.2 days this year (excluding vacation/sick days, etc).

Mins = Days/year
5 = 1.8
10 = 3.6
15 = 5.4
20 = 7.2
25 = 9.0
30 = 10.8
35 = 12.6
40 = 14.4
45 = 16.3
50 = 18.1
55 = 19.9
60 = 21.7

Over 2 weeks of solid driving for me!

Currently about a week's worth. Used to be about 40 days when I was commuting Metairie to BR 4 days a week.

What if Scruffy was a truck driver?

Where would he fall on this chart?

and this...

NOLA has its problems, but traffic isn't one of them. Assuming you live on the East bank.

Live and work in downtown Houston. I ride my bike right at a mile one way to work takes about 10 minutes door to office seat. Probably about 2 solid days on a bike considering a 9/80 schedule. #Gainz

Traffic is a problem if you don't know how to get around it.

Used to be
quote:

120 = 43.4

one way

Did that for 9 months until I sold my house and moved to the BR area.

Now it is

25 = 9.0

every now and then i stop and scratch my balls on the way up the stairs from my living room to my office.

bound to have taken up at least a couple of minutes of the last 3 years of working from home.

14.4 days per year in my car. Man that is pretty sobering. Can't wait for self driving cars to become reality for people like me.
