If you truly are revolted by holding babies (there's something wrong with you), then you could have handled it by saying how beautiful the baby is, that you are uncomfortable holding a fragile child, and you can see it better if someone else holds it near you. And then make a point of showing the baby and your sister attention.
My guess is that you are a little peeved that for once someone else is the center of attention in your family.

I'm not a huge fan of holding babies because I'm scared I'll hurt them by accident. I do think it's weird that you wouldn't even hold your own blood, but I also think it's weird that society has told parents that everyone just loves their kids even when they are entitled brats.

That truly is something right there, that separates us from the rest of the animals.
I don't care to hold a baby for too long that isn't my own either, but if it's close friends or family, my gosh... Suck it up for the few minutes. Might as well get used to it a little as you're likely going to know that child for a long time.
When they get to where they are crawling around and new to walking, I can be entertained for a while. They have to be an infant before they get there though. I never understand the dislike for something we all once were. Some people are just born pure assholes.

Absolutely. There most definitely something wrong with those type of people. It's understandable that some people don't want to have kids. After all, kids are a huge responsibility that lasts a lifetime. It's even more understandable that some may be hesitant to hold a newborn. You have to be careful and their heads flop around. They are fragile
But to be so revolted by babies that you refuse to touch one simply because you find all babies disgusting is something totally different. That says a lot more about you than the baby. Would you tell your 80 year old grandma, "no grandma I will not hug you. I don't like old people because they're disgusting."
