No. I have 4 chirrens and I love to hold babies. But I think people are stupid about this and should only hand their babies to people who WANT to hold them.
Your sister is a frickin idiot.

I don’t hold infants. I made that known long ago. I will sit and hold one after it grows a bit and their neck is strong enough to hold their head steady. It is just a thing with me.

I think you are the a-hole here but I also think your sister is slightly an a-hole for expecting you to hold the baby.

Also, the "real men hold babies" meme in the responses is way weirder than OP not wanting to hold a newborn. Almost every one of the rugged farmhand type big calluses and blue jeans men I've ever met has been uncomfortable around newborns. This men as nursemaid trends is fairly new in our culture.

I didn't read any of that shite, but based on your posting history...yeah, you are the a-hole.

Reddit is freaking weird as shite.

That entire thread is full of people agreeing with the op saying he needs to cut his entire family off.

Reddit is the place for people who end up 65 years old alone in a small apartment with 7 kittens, with no friends or family. Because they still see everyone else as the problem.

You really humiliated yourself in front of your family. Regardless of how you feel about babies, show some respect for your sister. Your family doesn’t trust you now, if they ever did.

What was the husband’s reaction to you disrespecting his wife for not holding the baby?

OP: I don't hold babies.

Sister: Here, hold my baby.

OP: I still don't hold babies.

Sister:

Husband: What's wrong with you? He says he doesn't like babies. He's said it since he was a kid.

OT: STOP DISRESPECTING HER! YOU ARE A WORTHLESS HUMAN BEING!
