Are you sure your pussy crook ex-bestie actually wants to raise an infant? It sounds like neither of them are of the highest moral standing, so there’s some chance he’ll threaten to leave her over the stress and she might choose him over the baby.

Should that situation arise: “strike hard, strike fast, no mercy”. Get the judgement as locked as possible if you are awarded full custody, as there is a 98% chance he’ll leave her later and she’ll come crawling back to you begging forgiveness.

Guys that like big, lactating boobs?

Other than that, I'm with you. That's pretty much the lowest but then, to be a best friend, and then take your friend's pregnant wife, oh man, that's lower than the old chewing gum stuck under my running shoes.

I couldn't imagine that. I did something the OT hates, started dating a woman with kids then got married and became a step dad.
After 11 years I just wasn't in love anymore and broke it off. Little did I know she had a friend ready to scoop in. Some t3 year old uncle fester looking dude who I thought had a thing for her when we went to some band parent stuff.
Anyway. She moved right into the guys house and took her kids with her. A month after our split she poisoned me to her kids. Kids I held raise since Kindergarten now a junior and senior in school and I haven't seen or talked to either since April of 2023.
They weren't mine but I miss them every day.
I don't need visitation but just to hear from them and maybe take them to dinner like the old days would be nice.
I had bought cars for them but the cars stayed with me. They didn't get their license until after the split and if I had no contact I wasn't giving her cars for her kids. Though if either kid would have just called or asked for the car I would have given it to them.
I swore off dating women with kids after that. Though the dating pool when your in your 40s isn't full of childless women.
I don't miss my ex at all, she was more a prison guard and roommate to me at the end but those girls I miss every day.

If you are able to handle full custody it seems you have a good chance of succeeding
Not in Texas you don’t. The courts go out of their way to allow joint custody. They need really special circumstances to make it full custody to one parent, and fricking someone else isn’t it.

I can't imagine what you're going through. But hang in there and be a good dad and everything else will work out.

Here is a great song about being a single dad:

Not on all levels. It’s been years and I still miss being a part of their everyday lives. Now I’m more of a guest in them.

Divorce fricking sucks.

I remember your initial thread about this as it was beginning. I’m glad you’re still with us. You’ve made it this far, so you know you can do it!!!

The pain never goes away, but it does get better. As she ages, be ready to create an environment that she wants to be in by being active & involved in her life. For example:

- reading her books at night as she goes to sleep
- going to every parade, festival, and park possible to stay active and off the couch
- shopping at “boutiques” and Ulta
- being available to shuttle her to any extra curricular activity that she gets involved in
- provide a welcoming house for her & her buddies

Often I was exhausted and had no interest in sitting through My Little Pony in the theater, or going to pick up one of my daughters’ friends for a sleepover. However, I did it to make their time with me as fun as possible. It is paying off now as they’re entering high school. They want to spend the summer with me, and if given a choice will pick coming to my house rather than staying with their mom.

If they’d do that, they were never your friend, so you’re actually better off on that part.

Every single day, i text my daughter and son that i love them with all my heart. I also text them good night and i hope your day went well.

Thing i say to my girls: i love you with all my heart. I’m proud of you. You are beautiful. You are awesome. Don’t ever let anyone tell you anything else. I will always be there if you need to talk.

Things i say to my son: i love you with all my heart. You are awesome. Be respectful. Be kind. Be a man. People are gonna judge you by your character so you can either make it or break it. Always smile and shake hands

Has it been confirmed Jody knew she was pregnant?? It sounds like the OP didn’t even know yet. Jody may have got more than he bargained for.

Yeah, the ex told him before she told me. It was a calculated move.
