It’s not just men, plenty of women are asking themselves those same questions. Go meet them.

If the kids ever ask you anything about what mom said, just smile and say “well you know your mom” ...roll your eyes... “she’s probably right”. Smile and let it go. Smart kids will get that youre not going to say anything bad but understand you just did.

And kids don’t need or want quality time, they need quantity time.

Keep your head up and be a great dad. It’s the most important thing a man can do in my opinion.

Find a slutty counselor with Coke and solve a few of those together. Save your money.

Your kids need a dad who takes them fishing on a boat.

Buy a boat.

I’m sorry. Thanks for being a good dad. I am married to an amazing one. Your wife is a moron...that’s all.

Edit-no blow or hookers...don’t risk your kids. Tons of single moms that will distract you from the divorce. Keep your nose clean and enjoy the strange.

I will say that the wife has disregarded all the good shite i’ve been doing over the years. Call it selfish but it’s the shite that i imagine any marriage goes through. Just feel like it’s rolling downhill now and i can’t stop it. I just want the best life possible for the kids and a chance at modest happiness for myself.

Over the next few months i’ll have to find where all the single moms are so i can begin to enjoy that side of life again

Will be very weird going after other women when i’ll always have a special place for the woman who birthed my kids and showed me love for a long time

There used to be a laundry list of shite I would divorce over. We had our girls and I can’t think of one thing I would leave for. I am sorry you guys couldn’t work things out. Not a day goes by that I don’t hope we can hold it together. Life is hard but kids come first. Someone out there will respect and love you for feeling that way. frick her for not realizing that.

When a parent says they are. "single dad or mom" the implication is that they are raising a child alone. 90% of the time they are actually just divorced and splitting custody.

Usually it's women who do it on purpose to sound like a strong independent woman who don't need no man. Annoys me.

Are you sure this marriage is over?

You’ve said a few times that your kids have always been priority #1...where has your wife ranked during this time?

Is she filing or you? If her, is she willing to do counseling?

I don’t plan on filing but my gut tells me she is going to sooner rather than later. Apparently i’m a big enough a-hole that a couple counseling sessions didn’t move te needle for her and she’s fricking done.

In the moments i always considered my wife & kids on the same level as #1 but in retrospect i put the kids over her as far as my emotional connection and top concern. Guess if i had it over i would put more of a premium on her feelings and it sucks that she felt controlled/neglected, but son of a bitch i really don’t feel bad about loving my kids unconditinally and focusing too much on them

Keep ya head up man. Too many kids grow up without a good father figure, dont let them continue that trend. Make sure you show them what a good father is, thats all you can do.

Interesting thread but I think the OP is full of shite and made up this scenario/story. Just sounds contrived in his responses.

And true or not, single moms are where it's at.
