Gun nuts want them because they are not allowed to have them.
Suppressors were originally outlawed in the 30’s because The Depression pushed desperate men to poach out of season trying to feed their families. Our overlords were not able to apprehend these people trying to feed their kids because they were using suppressed rifles therefore the report from their rifles was not loud enough for them to be caught.
So.......
There ya go libtard.
The law only exists because poor, desperate people were trying to feed themselves.

I'm not sure if you are being serious, but that isn't true at all.

It’s absolutely true.
The 1934 firearms act placed a $200 tax stamp on the ownership of a suppressor. That was intended to price out people desperate enough to poach as a means of providing. Suppressors are still not illegal, you still have to pay the $200 but wait months while the ATF clears you.
So I made this up?
Would you like a link storm?

Silencers are not nearly as effective as they are portrayed in the movies to where they make that cute little "pew" sound. Just doesn't work like that.
This is true if you are screwing a can onto your rifle and using supersonic ammo. I shot an internally suppressed .308 with subsonic rounds (no ear pro) a few weeks back and it absolutely made a cute little “pew” sound.
I hope we get rid of the paperwork and stamps required for suppressor ownership, but if the Vegas nut job had a suppressed weapon and subsonic ammo, nobody would have known he was shooting.

Mentally ill people who have reached 'the point' will use whatever they can...you nor libs can ban everything that possibly can be used

Ammonium nitrate fertilizer
Pressure cookers-nails
Chemical-dirty bombs
more...
It's not the instrument, it's the musician.
I am far more afraid of losing my civil liberties at the hands of liberals than I am of a gun weilding maniac.

I don't have a use for suppressors, but there are people who do. Same goes for anything, as long as they aren't hurting anyone, I don't give a shite.
BTW, frick Hillary Clinton for making the tragedy in Vegas about gun regulations.

Leftist are so dead focused on guns that they (ignorantly) don't realize that forcing perpetrators to find new instrumentalities could very well result in far more deadly results, vehicles, gases, acids, etc.

Silencers dont keep a firearm from being loud
This particular debate will show those who know and those who don't. They literally think every gun sounds like a Walther P22 with a silencer

I bought one legally. Its not hard.I use it for shooting wild hogs and for my wife and kid to take doe's in our lease. For hogs its about getting as many down before they know whats going on. For deer, its quieter with less recoil so its much easier for my wife and kid to shoot.

A can is really nice when you're offing a shark off of the back of a sport fisher.
