It was a quick and easy read, and I came away with a lot of new knowledge.

haven't read that, cliffs? my career is coming to an end and I've thought about writing a book about a lot of the things I've seen and things that go on behind the scenes, I might, I'm just trying to figure out a way to make it different from all of the other hokey, "look at me y'all, I'm great" type of books I've read that were written by pilots, mine will be written more in the vein of "Airplane"

You might find it enjoyable. I didn't get a conceited vibe from the guy; he just wanted to bust myths, explain things that are rarely explained to the general public, and tell some funny stories along the way. I found it very enjoyable to read.

I landed a 172 in a 15kt crosswind once as a student. Not gonna lie, I prayed the whole time on final approach.

pilot does that on purpose. It's called crabbing and is a way to mitigate the wind sheer.
