I never liked the competence defense.
If you aren't competent enough for such a basic activity, then you should be locked away from society.

If any of you actually give a shite, I can explain the distinction between competency to proceed and sanity at the time of the offense, as well as the procedures for both.
But if this is just a feels thread to vent some outrage, by all means, have at it.

I'm sure this will come out during his trial(if there is one) as part of his defense. I would imagine he was coached by his attorney to come off in this manner. His TPOS dad being kilt by dem racis cops will be brought up, and will be front and center.
I'm not debating his sanity at all, but I'd assume his defense is going to try and use any angle or tactic possible to get him off. Unfortunately that is their job, and they have to exploit things like that to help try and get him off.
Sadly if it weren't for his fathers situation none of us would have even known who he was, or what he did. That being said I'm sure there will be a lot more interest from outside influences.
