So if you're down with the Confederacy can you go stand inside the box and just sort of chill with the statue?

The box was initially believed to be completed at the end of this week. However, on Thursday, Parish of Caddo's Office of Communications released a statement to clarify that the construction of the box will begin early next week because of the need for further engineering design.

Just building a box will only “sorta” end racism. It has to come down.

The cost to remove these statues still boggles my mind. Could build a couple of decent homes from the ground up at that cost.

We laughed our asses off when we heard this. This debate has been raging since NOLA took down the Lee circle statue.... it's been a never ending game of ping pong back and forth...and now finally...we have decided on a box, this morning they announced that plans for the box have been delayed

They need to tear it down not build a wall around it

Companies are doing it on purpose to rip them off and quite frankly, good for them.

No one who works hard for a living wants to be the one to go and remove a statue simply for virtue signaling reasons. So all of these contractors are putting in absurd bids on purpose.

“Quite so often when we turn on our TV or when we look on social media, we see police brutality start to look (like) the new norm. From Anthony Childs, to Mother’s Day brawl to Tommie McGlothen, we see firsthand how it can easily happen in our own backyard. This is why our citizens don’t trust the police. Our citizens deserve to be safe by the very same ones who took an oath to serve and protect. In order to regain trust, the officers must have honesty, transparency along with integrity," Peoples said in her message.”

How does one say this with a straight face? I suppose one must believe in the right of the individuals involved to settle scores and determine the outcome, rather than the often touted “justice?”
