Dear Lord, man, how old are you?
I worked at the Country Club of Louisiana one year when I was 21/22. Members could come at 6 a.m., so I opened up at 5:15 or 5:30 to make some coffee and lemonade for them. Had to make sure they had enough towels as they would all use about 5 every shower and throw them on the floor. Just could they could, I guess. Had to fold then stack 10 hand towels in a pyramid at about 20 different stations. Oh, and how could I forget—each urinal had to have fresh ice at all times. Bastards.
But that job had me running around all day and was usually way too tired to hit the gym afterwards. And I was working out 5 days a week then. So I just said frick it and started getting up at 3:30, getting a workout in at the YMCA, shower and get ready then head to work. After my body got used to it, I felt fricking fantastic. But, not only was I in my early 20s, I had to go to bed by 8. I don’t think there’s any possible way I could do that now—my body simply wouldn’t allow it.
To answer OP, sure you can get up at 4 AM, but not unless you’re getting to bed by 8 or 9. We need sleep, even more than we thought. Check out the book Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker. Not sure if it was recommended on here or I caught the guy on Rogan’s podcast, but it’s great.

Yes. Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise.

This is all bullshite. We all work differently. Some people get more done in the morning, some people in the afternoon, and some people at night. Wake up whenever you feel like it if you can get your work done and get enough sleep.

hell no

If I don’t, I’ll be late for work, so yeah.

I usually wake up around 4am. Typically asleep around 9. As a kid I was a natural 8-5 sleeper, just how I’m wired. I get more shite done, especially nowadays, between 4-6am.

I'm rarely in bed before 2. My alarm is set for 7:30.

I usually sleep in but on the days I wake up early I do feel more accomplished as I get more shite done. Especially with it getting dark so early these days.

I'm usually up at 5am but 4am just seems like a bridge too far.

I fricking hate mornings by default bc I love staying up late at night. On those rare nights I get to bed at a decent hour, I wake early and feel great and think “I should do this every day” but I don’t and never will.

You should never, under any circumstances, do this.

I used to say the same thing but I started involuntarily waking up at 3-4 AM every morning for 17 days straight when I had covid and now I’m a morning person
I used to feel bizarre if I woke up before 9-10 AM but after waking up between 6 and 8 every morning for the past 9 months I feel great and so much healthier

I dig Jocko and I'm normally up a 4am. Sleeping in is 5am then I got to get my arse moving.

Are you the same way? I felt like I was in a dream fog all day if I woke up before 9 during college and the feeling completely disappeared recently, never talked to anyone about it to see if that was normal so I’m curious

Yes, I think I would sleep too long. That and poor nutrition, no matter how good my fitness was at the time, I was in a fog every morning until mid day.
Doing carnivore or basically an elimation diet, then cutting out nuts and grains really changed my life. Mentally anyway, I'm up and ready to go on first alarm.

I usually get up at 0430h to ride for 1-1.5 hours. On Thursdays I get up at 0330 for a race that starts at 0420. I love that shite.

Nice, I think you’re right about sleeping too long. I was out for 10-12 hours during that period and now I’m a midnight to 6 AM 6-7 hour guy
