But you also need less sleep around 30-50.

We can operatee, and I personally operate better on a good 6 compared to 8-10.

I respect what Jocko accomplished, but people who hang on his every word like it was delivered ftom Mount Olympus are missing the boat. SOF dudes are mostly the same as everyone else. Some are awesome, some are shitbirds, most are somewhere in between.

I love waking up early. It's like hacking the day.

Before COVID when I was working from the office I was able to get my work done at 11 am and have the rest of my day to do what I wanted, while all of those other schmucks were just arriving and having to deal with afternoon traffic and all of that nonsense.

That said I was getting up at 5-6 am, not 4, that's insanity unless you work at NORAD.

I always told myself this until I started taking melatonin and got disciplined about my bedtime. My quality of life is so much better on 7+ hours of sleep.

Jocko has actually said this a lot. He does not like to put himself on a pedestal in regards to his SEAL days. He talks about his experience a lot, but he gives the credit to his team and the other branches all the time. Kind of the reason why I like him. He doesn’t shite all over people because he was a SEAL. He’s definitely a strong personality, but he’s not an arrogant a-hole.

I have to get the kids up at 5:30am because their bus arrives so dang early (by 6:30am). This means I am up by 5am on average.

Funny thing is, on a workday...this SUUUUCKS. Give me a day off, and I'm usually already up by 5am.

I was never a morning person but my current work day starts at 6 am. Once I got used to getting up at 5 am every day it wasn't so bad. Now I get up at 4 am, get to the gym by 4:30, leave at 5:30 and get to work around 5:45.

Just wish I could stay up later and still get up at 4.

I'm more of a pattern person. If I get used to waking up at 7 AM every day, then I'm ok. If i get used to waking up at noon every day, then I"m ok.

After a week, I had no problem getting up at 4 AM in basic training. Got to where I woke up before the lights cam one.

What exactly is wrong with bottle feeding? How many adults discuss whether they were bottle or breast fed? Makes ZERO difference in life.

I’m old school about waking up early.

I’ve always been a morning person and I’ve noticed that more successful folks are also.

Over the past four years of monitoring my sleep from a Fit Bit, I’m at an average of 6.4 hours sleep per night.

Generally, 9:30 PM to bed, asleep by 10:00 PM and up before 5:00 AM.

Run every morning (Consecutive Day #330 of 2020 today)

No coffee ever. Usually no breakfast. Just go get the day.

I used to get up at 5 and go to the gym, then straight on to work. I work from home now. I'm up at 6 each morning.

What does everyone that goes to bed at 8pm do on the weekends? Do you ever go to dinner or sporting events? If you go to bed every night at I would imagine staying up to 11 would be a bitch.
