Yeah, but Haiti's government is one of the worst you'll find. Always has been, all the way back to Dessalines when he decided to make it government policy to execute all the white people, even the children.

Haiti needs boots on the ground, people to help - not more money for their corrupt government to waste.

It's a waste. I watched as drug lords and government entities beat women and children as they stole water and food we provided for them. We were ordered not to intervene. The only good we accomplished is saving a little girl's life after we discovered her buried in the wreckage. We took her aboard in bad shape and our Doc saved her life. The trauma there was unreal and the government couldn't care less.

Its really a shithole. An example of what happens when inmates are allowed to run the asylum

I'll just set my money on fire. At least then it'll keep someone warm.

Reading more about Haiti's deforestation, they're causing their own problems.
Not surprising that the Dominican Republic passed a law in 2013 retroactively canceling citizenship and deporting Haitians out of their country.
Haiti is now illegally cutting the border forests in the D.R. because they've cut 97-98% of their forests and D.R. is saying you fricked your side up, stay the hell out of our side with your bullshite unsustainable living practices.
Haiti needs population decrease and some intelligent leadership to rebuild their country but naaaah they'll just keep taking international welfare aid.

410bridge is a great charity that already partners with many communities in haiti. I went with them over the summer and was thoroughly impressed with the way they help Americans come along side Haitians to improve things.

I hate to think this way, but Haiti is so corrupt I doubt any of the money would get to the people who need it.

Haiti is such a shithole that no one will be able to tell the difference before and after the storm. With all the aid Haiti has gotten over the years, they should be a resort area by now.
If they actually gave two shits about their country they'd do something about it themselves.

There's no point in donating. Haiti isn't any better off since the earth quake and there were millions donated then. All of the money gets caught up in bureaucracy and doesn't get to the people who need it. It's actually very sad.

Nice job of dogging the people you actually want to donate.

What Does Haiti Have to Show for $13 Billion in Earthquake Aid
I read your link. It is pretty disgusting. much of the funds given for them were siphoned off before it got there. The funds that did get there got siphoned off there.
Even the Red Cross only seems to have used about 15% of the half billion they collected on the ground, helping those in need. They did buy tarps, mosquito netting, solar street lights, and spent $10 million repairing a hospital.
You can buy a lot of tarps for $489 million.
