Unchecked capitalism is bad it's puts the priority on greed and making more profit above the well being of people it is trying to serve. Just look at the travesty of the private prison system and you think this would be a good business model to educate kids...
Yeah pass.
Yeah pass.

Capitalism is normally the best solution. If we paid higher quality teachers better, fired those who underperform, and made two tracks for high school (college or vocational) it would simplify the process and help all students.

Also, the public system breeds stagnation, protects and defends inefficiency, and generally misappropriates funds, resulting in far less for each dollar.
Both systems have their flaws.
From what Scruffy sees of the public system, it’s flaws are insurmountable.

The cost of education would be too great.

Absolutely agree. I just feel like STEM programs really should
Be for highschool students only. We need full education of middle schools including arts and language composition.

Texas has many Charter Schools which are privatized public schools funded with taxpayer money. The majority of these Charter Schools perform worse than their public counterparts in the same neighborhoods.

No. I also assume you mean as in charter schools. Think about it. The goal of a business is to maximize profit. They do that by making products as cheaply as possible. Charter schools are being run the Same way. Profit, not educating students, is what us important. Also, they think they are outside the law.

So all schools in america would have highly paid qualified teachers? Some how I doubt that.

You can’t legislate education

Wow.
Talk about a system of haves and have nots.

Do you have any idea how Roemer's system for identifying higher quality teachers worked? It was a joke. If you really want to know who the best teachers are, I suggest that you go into schools, get the students who have demonstrated a desire to learn, and ask them. You will weed out the useless teachers pretty quickly.

Could take a while at most schools

Compared to the time/money to identify "effective" teachers right now (which is also a joke), it would be a drop in the bucket.

We should privatize them all and go to all voucher funding.
Schools that don't want to take vouchers don't have too.
Put the money in the classroom and give the teachers and the school administrators the freedom to run the schools as they see fit.
Give the families choice.

You would be surprised how many more teachers would be “effective” if kids wanted to learn and had parents who gave a shite / backed schools and teachers

Gotcha .
Teachers are better trained / better educated and have more technology at their disposal than previous generations of teachers but times have changed
