There has to be a time frame where this isn’t an issue any longer.
Will these reparations shut people up? Will it cost me anything? If the answers are Yes & No, then sure go for it.

No. Nobody affected by the civil war is alive today. Any problem or disadvantage that you have today (white or black) can be directly traced back to a decision that you made. Maybe the decision was influenced by how you were raised, but nevertheless you made a conscious decision to end up where you are currently at

I will gladly chip in for reparations for any living person held in slavery throughout the civil war era.

I'm a poor white farmer in South Carolina in 1860. There's a 95% chance I have no clue what secession is, but on the off chance I do, let's say I don't support secession because I know a war will mean devastation. You think the SC Convention gives a rat's arse? So 4+ years later, my little farm, house and livestock are destroyed by the United States government, who all along have claimed that I was still a part of and subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. Are you saying there's no remedy?

This is so ignorant.

It's generally true, but obviously there are exceptions. If I'm crippled because one day when I was sitting at church some rando shot me in the back that's not really because of my decisions. I guess I could have not gone to church.

Humans have inalienable rights. The US Constitution recognizes those rights, and protects them.

Well, seeing how it was the south who stole the majority of southerners' livestock and crops, ask your state to reimburse you.

IDK. For reparations in general, some scholars have quantified the total owed to African Americans at 14 trillion. I would like to see what African Americans have already collected in social programs, public education, college education grants, etc. I have to wonder if "the govt" has already paid out 14 trillion. I should add, I have no issue with most social programs. American ain't that great if people go hungry and can't go to school.

If I get hit by a drunk driver and cannot work for the rest of my life and can only receive disability, is that my fault? What decision of mine led to my disadvantage and how is that my fault?
