Why do "motorcycle guys" always feel the need to rev up their motor when they are underneath an overpass?

They are so cool.

I would not advise it. He's not nearly as nice or easy going as I am.

He actually is if I'm just being totally honest.

I think that would make you the exception, rather than the rule. I've been chased by dozens of dogs.

You'd think there would be unusually high rate of deafness among bikers. I bet a lot of em can't hear worth a shite when they get into their 50-60s.

I've got standard Rinehart pipes on my Harley. My bike sounds fairly stock.

As to why it's "cool"? I don't know. You'll have to ask someone like my brother who buys $600 pipes to make their bike louder. I can't speak for him personal but I'd imagine he'd say he doesn't give a shite about you or what you think is cool.

That's just a guess.

Bikers need to respect people in residential areas. Not giving a shite about others is just a douche perspective. Having a loud bike that you purposefully reeve and burnout on at all hours of the night in neighborhood and subdivisions is an arsehole move. Frick those dudes.

Ive been riding for over 30 years and have never reeved or especially burnedout at any hour in any neighborhood or subdivision. And I live in the nicest subdivision with the highest property values in my town.

I'm sure stock pipes can accomplish all of this. They are plenty loud.

You shouldn't be, because in many cases they absolutely aren't.

I read in the news every day about people being asinine, and argumentative, when they don't know the first thing about what the hell they are talking about. Ought to be against the law.

Maybe not you, but it is an issue that I personally and many others that I have talked to deal with pretty regularly. I mean if it wasn't happening, people wouldn't complain about how unnecessarily loud many bikes are. I don't care for bikers that zoom between cars, on the interstate, at a high rate of speed, but I see that as a police/patrol issue. Being a douche in residential areas is different. There isn't much a homeowner can do other than try to confront the arsehole, but that is asking for more issues. I could call the police, but they would have to camp out around the area to catch them. It is a bullshite issue to even have to deal with and it looks bad for all bikers, but they probably don't give a shite Amirite?

I camped on the Trace yesterday. Those loud bikes were the only thing that sucked.

I live on a nice, winding, barely 2-lane country road in TN that connects to the Natchez Trace. If you don't already know, thousands of adults like to hit the Trace to 'play biker' on beautiful TN weekends. These clowns are replete with brand new (stiff) leathers, boots, and every other accoutrement this wannabe-counterculture deems 'badass'.

Often these folks will detour down my otherwise peaceful road in order to make a loop. Very few of the bikes are equipped with acceptable sound dampening, and they are often blaring a radio (I don't get this...but whatever). The bikes are so loud that they sometimes scare my 4yo daughter and my son will hold his ears.

Shouldn't this be considered 'noise pollution' and restricted by law?

Your premise is absurd.

Wait, you're a Bama fan, that explains the stupidity.

This is America. Everyone should be free to do what they want when they want it...unless I don't like it. Then It should be illegal. Seems fair.

My wife worked for Harley Davidson and she said its not always a cool factor. It might be bullshite but she said some bikers feel safer with louder pipes so other drivers will pay attention to them on the road.

Try to find a BMW or Honda Goldwing rider that wants to make their bike louder for any reason. Just a B.S. reason to justify their juvenile attention getting.

Shouldn't I be free to chill in my yard on the weekend without the intrusion of loud bikes?

Don't they know the engineers put a lot of work into making hints quieter? Jesus, just listen and watch a Honda idleanfn compare it to a vibration machine Harley.

Harley engineers have spent all of their efforts trying to make a antiquated and archaic engine design usable today all for the sake of a bike sounding and looking "cool". Honda engineers have spent their careers continuously improving engine designs to the point they are today, quiet, almost vibration free with incredible reliability.

Shades of the abortion argument. Ever notice everyone who is pro abortion wasn't aborted? Lots of those BMW and Goldwing riders who ended up with road rash or dead because of varmints are no longer BMW, Goldwing, or any other type of motorcycle rider. I personally know two who quit riding because of wrecks due to dogs.

Wonder how many of these dildos would appreciate me driving around playing whatever music I feel like, at the same noise level as their piece of shite motorcycles.

Are you really bothered by it? Seriously I understand the complaints of the OP and if I had to hear it day in and day out I would probably get annoyed too but I dont think this is something to get really pissed about. Then again I love the sound of loud engines
