Nope.
I still had the mind of a stupid teenager at 18. Just because you reach a certain age number doesn't mean you automatically become a worldly mature adult.
Today's 18 year olds are nothing like the 18 year olds of generations past.
The voting age needs to be 21.

I could get on board with this if everything was pushed back. I fear though, then the 21 year olds will start acting like the 18 year olds now

Won’t make a difference because a lot of smokers start below 18.
Kind of like drinking in this state... age requirement doesn’t really reflect reality.

The vast majority of smokers worldwide began smoking before they were 21 years of age, that’s 95% of all smokes.
This goes for smoking, drinking, jerking off, and everything between. Young people do stuff.. making the legal age older will just make more people brake the law.

Secondly, smoking not only affects the smoker, but also the people around them. I don't get a dose of calories in my salad from the guy at the next table eating a hamburger.
Yet millions of cars are pumping out poison you have no issue sucking into your lungs daily.

I don't think this is really Darwinism. By the time smokers die of lung cancer they're usually grandparents having already passed on their smoke loving DNA.
That’s actually not true in the real world.
Believe it or not, lung cancer isn’t terribly prevelant in even life long smokers. Only 10% or so of people that started smoking at 15 years old or so end up getting lung cancer when they get old.
The real costs to our medical system from lifelong smokers is COPD, not lung cancer.
COPD is a chronic condition and those that have it tend to live for years upon years requiring in home oxygen, multiple inhalers and have frequent hospitalizations for upper and lower respiratory infections.
ETA: Second hand smoke causing significant health issues long term is a laughable myth.

I'll never understand why some people crave more and more government regulation.

No, because too many state programs (State Police Retirement being one) are tied to cigarette taxes. The more you smoke, the money the state makes on taxes.
I feel like the amount of money the state pays in medical care, as well as higher insurance premiums, because of tobacco users, far exceeds the additional taxation from tobacco taxes.

I don't think raising the age would do any good... except make the market for black market tobacco / straw purchases even stronger.
Has raising the drinking age from 18 to 21 solved anything?
Lower drinking age to 18, that way, all of the "freedoms" such as tobacco, alcohol, voting, military service, etc all follow the same age.
Slightly off topic, but I heard today a guy on the radio discussing something interesting. We can't lower drinking age to 21 because the feds will cut off road funds. However, cities can actively refuse to enforce federal immigration law, and their federal funding is not at stake.

Wait, the great freedom-loving, small-government Sentrius is actually wanting more government regulation??
Is all that freedom and small government stuff a joke?
Are you against gay marriage as well?

I'm willing to bet any amount of money that the DUI/Vehicular death rate would be considerably higher if the drinking age were 18.

In LA? Most of the people who get DWIs are well over 21.
Very few 18-20 year olds I know, who drink, ever drive drunk. Why? Uber. Uber is a game changer when it comes to drinking and driving, provided you actually use it.
My boss has a kid in college, and averages about $200 a month in Uber charges, 99 percent of which is a few bucks here and there driving to and from bars, parties, etc. And he's 19...

I have a better one for you. Why are we restricting adults from doing any activities that are legal based upon age? My point is if you are a legal adult at 18 you shouldn’t be restricted. You should be able to vote, drink, buy a gun, buy tobacco and do anything any other adult can. Now if you don’t think 18 year olds are responsible enough then raise the legal limit of adulthood to 21.
