WBRZ News

What are y’alls thoughts about this rep getting arrested for DWI? Would you still trust them and have confidence in their ability to make the best decisions for you and our state? It seems a little hypocritical to have a state rep who is running into cars while intoxicated deciding the direction of our state. I think she should’ve resigned the morning she woke up in jail. Also wondering if she’s a habitual drunk and how she’d fit inside the vagrancy law definition.

Honestly I wouldn't care. I'd rather have a drunk with good policy positions than a teetotaler with terrible policy positions.

The sooner you stop looking at politicians as better than us all and realize they are just normal people, the better off you will be.

Adam Carolla always says the saddest thing about getting older is realizing that all the adults you assumed were smarter than you when you were a kid are actually just the same morons you went to school with who took a different path.

Yes, she should resign. Our elected officials should not have serious offenses on their record.

And I voted for her.

I went to the story to see pics. Don't just make her resign, put her in jail.

Same, but she hasn’t been in the legislature long enough to know her policies

No.

Elected/public officials are held to a higher standard, but that doesn’t mean they are not allowed to make mistakes, take responsibility for them, and persevere.

As long as she makes the necessary arrangements for transportation to continue to serve her constituency and proves through her actions that this arrest was an isolated incident, I think she should continue to serve the people who elected her.

At some point as a society, we have to quit trying to use cancel culture to advance our own personal interest. I am not sure if that has happened here yet, but I am willing to bet if someone does publicly call for her resignation that if you dig far info you will find the personal motive.

Stop cancel culture 2020.

Yes, she didn't just have a couple of drinks and get unlucky.

She smoked a car sitting at red light, walked into oncoming traffic, and then blew a .143. That's absurd for a state representative, especially in the Uber age.

Yeah, no way you’re not officiated with her most recent opponent.

Anyway, most people on average drive a minimum of 10 times while intoxicated before getting caught.

I also find the double standard odd. Had she been a police officer people would be calling for her job but since she’s a politician it’s more of a “nothing to see here.”

Wasn't she the one who called out her opponent for having an arrest record? (For charges that were later dismissed)

Cant dwi's screw you up for jobs? Or getting into law school?

It's not cancel culture to not want a criminal as a public servant.

Plus, her crashing is the reason the rest of us that drive at .08 could end up in jail.
