Any of you unfortunate Shreveport residents have info on this? Run of the mill Shreveport day or something bigger?

KSLA has a crew on the scene.

I would assume if there is a crew there on scene, it’s not an active shooting, just a couple shots fired.

I thought the same thing. We may be entering the next phase of Operation Insurance Policy.

Mayor Adrian Perkins released this statement:

“I just left the scene of a shooting that took place at Mall St. Vincent. There was a young adult victim and I’m heartbroken. A shopping trip on a holiday weekend turned tragic. We as a community have to take care of one another. We will argue, disagree, but we cannot resort to these types of senseless acts of violence.

Any questions?

Shreveport soon became a center of steamboat commerce, which carried mostly cotton and agricultural crops to downriver markets and goods to this trading center. Some of the cotton was shipped overland from Texas to Shreveport. The city also had a slave market in the antebellum years, although slave trading was not as important here as in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Both slaves and free blacks worked on the river steamboats which plied the Red River, and as stevedores loading and unloading cargo. By 1860, Shreveport had a free population of 2,200 and 1,300 slaves within the city limits.

Perkins has his eye on a much higher position but he has anchored himself to a sinking ship with Shreveport. He will fade into obscurity and be forgotten

Sounds like something you say when you’re trying to address black on black violence but don’t want to be honest about it

The suspect produced a handgun and the dispute continued outside, where the victim was shot multiple times. At that point, the suspect stood over him and fired more shots into his body.

This is 100% BoB crime, notice on the article NO race was mentioned. Dead giveaway.

Shreveporters fought more duels per capita than anywhere else in the 1850s. Some baw at La Tech actually wrote a masters thesis on it. Basically it was the transition area between the Old South and the Old West and people were touchy.
