He looks happy in that mugshot. He must have settled a personal issue with someone.

Ausbrooks is also being treated at a hospital, authorities said. He is being guarded by deputies, authorities said, and when he's released, he'll be booked for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury.

WTF! Assault? How about attempted murder.

Great, now they're going to put metal detectors in grocery stores...

Side note: He must be the first black Kaden...

Capital punishment should not be reserved for those who were successful at murder. It should be meted out to those who attempt it as well. It is/was only luck that the victim did not die in an attempted murder, and luck should play no part in the sentencing of those who attempted to take someone's life.

this was an interesting watch on my local ABC affiliate here in Houston.

First breaking-news alert:

"We're following an active shooter situation at a Kroger in a prominent area of northwest Houston off of Cypresswood Drive. We've got a reporter headed to the scene. Harris County Sheriff's Office and local constables are responding. Stay with us as we bring you more information as it comes in."

...then complete silence for the next couple of hours.

5 PM newscast:

"Also....there was a shooting at the Kroger at Cypresswood and Aldine Westfield. The suspect has been arrested. Here's Pooja Lodhia live from the scene."

They interviewed shoppers, showed footage of the arrest...with the suspect conviently blurred out, despite him already being in custody.

Amazing how it went from "BREAKING: Active shooter! Developing situation! Stay with us!" to "Earlier today there was a shooting..." in just a few hours. Funny how the temperature of the coverage seemed to cool off once the suspect was identified. fricking incredible.

Can’t have people seeing patterns and making decisions based on them.

I laugh at that because my son is a Kaden...

He never played travel ball, but I guess he was a "travel wrestler" since he was nine..
