What we are seeing is an aspect of a long peace, in a way.

The fold is in dire need of a culling. Too many young men without purpose. Without a productive outlet for the natural agression that arises from full balls and empty hands.

I’m forced to look to History. Has there ever been a time where the youth were so bombarded with stimuli yet simultaneously discouraged from outlets for it?

What we are dealing with is energy that isn’t being channeled correctly. Energy cannot be destroyed, so if society is not using it for good, and it is not being used independently for good, null or evil are the only conduits that are left.

All of that. IDK. there simply is no answer. Why it sads me to see folks yell about what will work. We just have a troubled society on our hands

We aren't taking away guns. So let's secure schools; two entrances in and out with security officer.

As for parents responsible, maybe not a bad idea.

Unfortunately, I don’t see any other eventual outcome than that of the strong hand. Too many seem so eager to squander freedom earned in blood for the illusion of safety.

Although maybe it’s just the natural course. Empires rise and fall. And this current experiment has grown too big and contentious for a simple solution.

The democracies of Greece and the Republic of Rome ended in empire. Perhaps out of necessity.

But here we are, in new lands conquered relatively recently, wielding the deadliest sword. A people armed to the teeth in a Pax Americana. A new world in the new world, a new people in an age none are truly ready for.

We’ve eaten the apple, and thus Eden seems inadequate.

While an understandable reaction, it’s a reactive one. It’s building a wall against the evil instead of rooting it out of its lair.

Ohhh so you only care about saving gun deaths. Not the half million deaths attributed to tobacco?

Why cant a person care about both? Making a lot of assumptions as usual. Also trying to make it an either/or issue. How delightfully amateur.

Sad but unfortunately no longer shocking.

Why does this happen in America but nowhere else? The answer is obviously easy access to guns. But Americans don’t want to give up their guns.

The government should offer $100 for every gun to gun owners in America.

They’d have to offer a hell of a lot more than that to the majority of people

Because that isn’t true.

The vast majority with easy access to guns aren’t doing this.

Nope. Then we’d be on a path to tyranny where you are overrun by foreign invaders who displace your culture and need licenses for knives and TVs. Where making a dog raise its paw or criticizing a death cult gets you imprisoned.

They can offer ‘til they are blue in the face. Molon labe.

Good question.

Stupid answer.

You ask why, then ignore your own question and focus on the how.

Guns are a tool. If you're focusing on the tool you're ignoring the reason why the tool is being used.

See: England and their ban on guns. And now knives. And next whatever tool will be used. Rinse and repeat.

You obviously have no idea what a quality firearm costs. $100 may fetch a couple high pernts from the streets but wouldn't come close to what anything worth a damn costs. I wouldn't cash any of mine in for that price ever. That is if I still had them after that boating accident where I lost them all.

Most of my guns I wouldn’t sell for a $1000. For $100, the government would have to come physically remove them from me.

If your intent was to come in here and drop some knowledge or a reasonable solution after 35+ pages, everything that you mentioned in that post is 100% false. You realize that right?
