My local K-12 is made up of seven buildings on the far side of the county from the sheriffs HQ. I thought of calling and asking if they know how many doors there are but I don't want a visit from the deputies.

What's the good though? Other than being more convenient to show grandma's pics of the kids.

It's just data collection that we've all sign up for while it's changing the expectations of kids. Look at all this white trash lil T and Danielle and that other hoodrat. People think all they need to do is get followers and get rich.

Well if you're in prison, you give up a couple off the bat.

long been my fear... in close quarters with the right load the carnage per round is much more devastating.

"Bullying" used to be a sanctioned rite of passage. Social media can make it bad today, but there's no real indicator that all these kids who claim bullying are being harassed on social media.

It's not so much the direct insults and bullying they receive online as much as the indirect stuff. You can have no social media accounts and still be ridiculed relentlessly by others online.

A study done in the early 2000s, IIRC, found that bullying was present in like 2/3rds of mass school shootings. It's probably only gotten worse.

The other thing about social media and living online is the fact that you can find an echo chamber for even the most outlandish thoughts. If you were mental in the 1980s, it wasn't exactly easy to find others like you. Today there is basically a subreddit for everything.

Sorry kids, we were going to build a great chemistry lab but since we need guard towers and prison fences we are cancelling science.

Francis. Calm down. I'm not taking about super max, just controlled entrances that would slow a dude down. Obviously if someone is able to walk in with a shotgun security is a little lacking.

bullying'.

No doubt that true bullying has contributed to several of these shootings.

My thought is that a lot of what kids consider bullying today is really just the world not giving a damn about their every thought or opinion.

I know if my high school football coach said some of the things he said to us to, today’s youth... my kids included, would be mind-blown and not know how to respond and probably feel like they were being picked on or bullied. Not giving the coach a pass at all though until more facts come out.

It's bad parenting more than bullying.

Interesting.

Kind of messes up the high capacity narrative.

Assuming he had a standard shotgun, he could have had no more than 11 shells/bullets available at one time with both weapons fully loaded.

I agree. Most of these shooters don’t have what I would describe as an awesome home life, where they have healthy and happy interaction with parents, siblings, etc.

They were considered so inherent they too are amendments not placed in the original Constitution and were debated/voted on after the Constitution was ratified...

More good comes from it as well. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater baw.
I attribute the massive increase in depression and suicide to social media.

Societal unrest, political and social assassination, validation of unfounded beliefs and emotional states, destruction of socialization, furthering of begging/panhandling, etc.

What are the positives that outweigh the negative?

I could easily walk into an airport w/a shotgun too. Same for a mall, a sports venue, a concert venue, a college, a movie theater...

Are we going to need a militarized police defense force to cover all areas where people gather?

Some of it is that and most of it is lack of serious supervision and control/structure. They are allowed to be in their rooms online all day and night. Unfettered and unmonitored access to social media and who knows what.

No standard being set in the home. Look at how this kid dressed and tell me what kind of parent couldn't see the signs? The shite he posted on fb....the nazi signs.... Etc...

I was speaking to the widely held misunderstanding regarding the average person believing that they are rights granted from the government to it’s citizens, which they are not.

Yep, have more dispersion of the shot in those close confines. That is far worse than a rifle as far as ability to really cause more casualties. The only good thing about shotguns is the majority don't have high round magazines but there are some out there.
