I'm cool with it.

If Sunday soccer league attendance is any indication, we do have fewer hordes in Lafayette these days, though I think it has more to do with the struggling economy.

Serious question, is Baton Rouge a sanctuary city? I didn't think that it was.

Lake Charles leads the state in per capita illegal aliens.

They’re building all the new hotels by the casinos.

Well...the city is located within his jurisdiction and he is the chief Leo of that jurisdiction....so it seems like he is in his lane.

A sheriff can have a deputy take a squad car and go to any state prison in the state and pick up a prisoner NO questions asked. Practically all of the “lanes” are theirs.

I heard it's because they'd rather go back to Mexico than stay in Lafayette

I’d love to be Sheriff of EBR Parish. Cities in the parish would be cleaned up immensely.

Louisiana has no true sanctuary cities. NOLA and Lafayette Parish have had sanctuary type policies.

Not unless you count Katrina refugees. The housing of Federal inmates is big business.

Being Sheriff has to be the best local government position. More powerful than mayor and you get police powers.

Louisiana Sheriffs Association is very powerful. Don't know how the 2017 criminal sentencing overhaul passed with them opposing it.
