This is the kind of crap that gives the weather enterprise a bad name. When everyone doesn't die, people will whine that the meteorologists cried wolf. That's why most mets try to avoid hyperbole and hype.
This kind of stuff just feeds that. I've learned when it comes to big weather stories, the national media always plays it up like we are in the Day After Tomorrow movie.
