Wouldn't be surprised if it's a chlorine or HF release from one of the plants.

I forgot someone mentioned this to me I guess when a notification was sent out.. Evidently the new president of the university was named and a notification was sent out then a few minutes later they were telling people to shelter in place. Not sure if it was connected to the president thing... I guess I should read the rest of this thread first .

My son is a student there and was in the rec center when it happened. Apparently guy was in the library, started acting crazy and waving a gun, then ran from the library, dropped one gun while running and took another into a dorm and locked himself in a dorm room. They got him out without incident shortly after. My son said they spent about an hour in a room on the second story of the rec center with the lights off and told to make no sound.
