hell you all that say a trailer is worse have no freaking clue. a "fema" trailer would be much better and cost nearly the same.

The ONLY reason we agreed to anything was because they said they would "clean and sanitize" the house. After the filth that was flowing through our home, I'll take whatever extra cleaning we can get. We have already pressure washed everything. Treated with Microban as well as Boracare but you never quite get the feeling that it's clean enough. They have yet to do this step by the way. They are supposed to come back at some point in time. They were very vague about when that would be.

Thanks for giving us an actual list. That's pretty crazy. Hopefully the 8k is them counting all of the things that you declined. Which company is your contractor?

We did the BoraCare with MoldCare. Twice. Sheetrock is already back up everywhere. They'll basically be sweeping the floors.

He mentioned it but didn't hand out a card. He's out of New Orleans is all I know. So was the inspector.
ETA: I'm still in a position where I can deny it all. And it's an option because I may not want them in the way of my guy working on the Sheetrock. We are cleaning the house ourselves today and tomorrow so he has free reign on Sunday with nothing in the way.

Yeah I went through three gallons of Boracare with mold care and a case of Microban Germicidal and I still feel slightly unclean in the house. It's all in my head, I know. We just,finally, got our permit and inspection to rebuild last weekend. We have the new split system sitting in the house and all the sheet rock ready to be put up. They will pretty much just spray the floors and won't move anything if it's in the way.

Yeah, I mean it's messed up if these guys don't do what they're supposed to. It's not like they are Ma & Pop self employed contractors. These are medium to large sized contracting firms that aren't struggling to make a profit without this program. Lamar Contractors, Inc.; SLS Contractors; CORE Construction; Roy Anderson Corp., and The Lemoine Company are the firms overseeing the construction side, and distributing individual contractors.

We got 4 feet. Pulled out the rock up to the ceilings because the house sat with water fro 4 days. Used 4 gallons. Or 20 total after two coats. shite is potent. Killed all the grass around where I was mixing it in the back yard.

Yeah it is. I was hacking and coughing for a couple of days after each time that we sprayed. Now I go full respirator for that shite.
Did you mix one to one for termite protection or just go 5 to 1 for the mold protection?

The BoraCare and MoldCare handle termite together. 5-1 handles both according to the manufacturer. We called them directly because we were getting odd numbers from different sources. We couldn't figure out how much to buy. shite is thick too! Sprayer would hardly work without a ton of pressure.

After taking a look at a few other people I know's list it looks like the contractors are charging out the arse for labor costs. But also, that whole list of yours should be about $5k not $8k.

It's that or 400 million for trailers.
I do think some effort can be made to ensure that repairs aren't ripped out. For example, If they are going to sheetrock the walls, they should run any necessary electrical before they put the walls up.
Then, float the walls, I understand if they don't texture or paint the walls. But at least the walls won't have to be ripped out.

From what I've seen, the sheet rock that is being installed in bathrooms will 100% have to be ripped out. Gaps in the seams, damaged rock, etc

But, whoever you're referencing does now have the basic needs in their home that they may not have had before right? Water, refrigeration, A/C, electricity, and no mold?
