I says keep them in NOLA not move them to NOLA.
I know they have a lot of remote workers, even in the NOLA area. I wonder if a commitment like this will include forcing remote workers back to the office.

The word "keep" infers that there was a chance that these jobs were at risk of moving out of New Orleans.
It’s hard to think there wasn’t such a risk.
I’m not going to dance in the street over this news, but I’m not going to shite on it either.

As discussed in the other thread, this is big for the city. That piece of land has been long overdue for something like this.
And while the area around there has come a long ways in gentrification in the last 10 years, this should really help with the little blocks around that still have the turd old family houses and section 8.
The projects(as they will always be known to me) aren't really an issue. They seem to keep them up well and kick out troublemakers.

You can tell me with certainty there were no possible other locations these jobs could have gone? Didn't realize we ha da Shell exec posting here.

Whenever they release top viewership numbers of "soccer event whatever" by market, New Orleans is frequently in that list.

"NOLA is a shithole and businesses are leaving"
"These jobs were never going anywhere"
Y'all really need to make up your minds on this type of shite.

Definitely don't live up to your username. Soccer is pretty popular in the city.

I *believe* when this was announced they mentioned it as multi purpose including High Schools but I could be wrong.
i know the Pelicans have pitched a new Arena in that area but it looks like that's not happening

Nah.
They are like alot of companies though in that they want employees to come in a few days a week and are free to work from home the other days.
But there are people who support these jobs who work virtual from all over the world.
Coming back to the office five days a week ain't happening with companies like this, even if it is down in the south where this office mindset of wanting to force people in still exist

Actually insane how that one area if done right can bring a more modern feel to NOLA.
