Is the Arena outdated? Can it be upgraded to be on par with modern Arenas?

Or does it likely need to be replaced within the next 10-15 years?

Well now you're shifting the conversation from the completely ridiculous claim you made and can't defend.

Everyone says it needs to be replaced.

I don't really know arenas, but I haven't heard what is "wrong" with the blender. Just that it needs to be replaced.

Y'all should lay off her and admit she knows how to work hard and play hard.

Didnt she just hire a geriatric white West Coast woman to run New Orleans?

that's crazy. How old is the arena, 25 years?

Yup.

Unfortunately it was built very much on the cheap, and they have tried repeatedly to put lipstick on pig, but it just cannot keep up at all with modern arenas, and they way it is configured, it will never be able to be remodeled like the Superdome has been.

This isn't me or new. Everyone in the industry has commented on it for the past several years. Its a dump.

Again...they don't have to replace it. They just won't have a team in 10 years.

It sucks. Needs to be replaced. Move it to the River District and tear down the existing structure and replace it with tailgating and safety parking for Saints games. Or build more condos/hotel next to the dome with shops and restaurants

Can you answer the questions, which was the point of the discussion? Who cares about the minutiae? I will retract my statement if it makes you feel better.

Now, address the issue.

Are you like this in court?

To answer your question, what facility couldn't use upgrades? What concerts are we missing out on?

Katrina was almost twenty years ago. They've had 2 decades to attract business and investments and they're still blaming a disaster from 2005.

I read an article about a year ago that went into great detail.

Basically it is out of touch with just about everything a modern arena would have, especially in terms of money making. The sightlines are completely awful, configuration, fan experience, boxes, behind the scenes amenities, locker rooms.

And many of them simply cannot be redone efficiently.

There was a video yesterday on what the Clippers are building in LA and it is stunning in terms of fan experience.

The point is, per just about everyone that has commented on it, the Arena is a complete dump that cannot be upgraded to be in line with modern standards.

Yes, per those 5 people.

One of those people being the Commissioner of the NBA, the other being the actual person that runs both the Superdome and the Arena.

And the 3rd being the owner of the Saints and Pelicans

They may matter.

I just find it amusing you talked completely out of your arse and just move along like nothing happened and are trying to pass it off on me.

ok cool.

Does the Arena need to be replaced or not? That is the point of the conversation.

As usual you try to key on some small piece of irrelevant minutiae that made up 5 words of a larger conversation. I was told this by someone that literally does it for a living, works on putting on concerts and extremely large scale events. Many people in this thread will also likely know who I am talking about, New Orleans isn't a big town.

I will humbly retract that statement as I do not know first hand beyond what was told, so you can focus on the actual point of the conversation.

Well you started the conversation with a bullshite claim about the city losing concerts because of it.

I don't know that I trust your latest claim that the Arena is beyond renovating just because you say so. You track record for being factual isn't all that great in this thread.
