From grok:
Sudden Sniffing Death Syndrome (SSDS) is a rare but potentially fatal condition caused by inhaling volatile substances, such as the chemicals found in keyboard cleaners, aerosol sprays, or other inhalants. It typically occurs when the inhaled chemicals, like difluoromethane or tetrafluoroethane, disrupt the heart's electrical activity, leading to a sudden, life-threatening arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat). This can cause cardiac arrest and death within minutes, often without warning.
**Key Points**:
- **Mechanism**: Inhalants can sensitize the heart to adrenaline, making it prone to arrhythmias, especially during physical exertion or stress shortly after inhalation.
- **Symptoms**: Dizziness, confusion, or loss of consciousness can precede cardiac arrest, but symptoms may be absent until collapse.
- **Risk Factors**: Inhaling high concentrations (e.g., from a bag or directly from the can) increases risk. First-time or occasional users are as vulnerable as chronic abusers.
- **Common Inhalants**: Keyboard cleaners, paint thinners, glue, or aerosol propellants are frequent culprits.
- **Prevention**: Avoid recreational inhalation of these substances. Use products like keyboard cleaners only as directed in well-ventilated areas.
SSDS is a medical emergency with no specific treatment once it occurs; immediate CPR and defibrillation are critical if someone collapses. It’s a significant risk associated with inhalant abuse, often underestimated due to the accessibility of these products. If you need more details or stats, I can search for recent data or studies!

She was doing way more than inhaling keyboard cleaner.

Seriously. She would've gotten in a car drunk/high or too engaged with her precious cell phone and would've killed someone. Glad it's her and not someone who isn't as stupid or hell-bent on some kind of notoriety.

She was 19. Her hospital bills died with her. Parents are grifters too.

Haha I’ve done it while driving at 16, but not by myself that would be irresponsible, I always had someone else hold the wheel lol. I heard her police officer say that he caught a group of kids doing it at the bottom of a pool, they would dive down and do it.

I ran off the interstate on the raised part of interstate outside Birmingham. It was not good. Wake up call when I was that young

Have the parents sued Doordash yet?
I still remember that episode of Intervention where the chick was addicted to inhaling keyboard spray. Crazy.

America must rise up and demand common sense keyboard cleaner control

Did you know keyboard dust is ac refrigerant and can replace r-134a in your car system. It’s actually more efficient, most old r-12 systems that are converted to r-134a compressors use keyboard dusters. It is r-152a. I’ve used it in 3 cars now and it’s works so much better. It’s has a different molecular weight than r-134a, 66.05 g/mol compared to 102.03 g/mol
