If they share their business via govt email, it's no longer just their business.

Hesterman, who could not be reached for comment Thursday night, also surprised people by saying at the ceremony when the husband was promoted to colonel that he had “married the girl we were all in love with,” the husband alleged.

Dude is creepy as hell and quite public.

probably sounded way more endearing in his head than it came out.

Still, if they aren't sharing state secrets, why should anyone care, regardless of whether its government email or not?

That's like some new age version of David sending Bathsheba's husband to the frontlines to be killed, so he could marry her.

After a lifetime of religious nutjobs in my family, I don't go to church, but that, sir, is a solid god damned reference.

I tip my hat.

A 3 star general was wielding his power and using govt resources to separate a potential lover from her husband so he can bang her. He's essentially a public official. Nothing sent via govt email account is private unless it's classified.

The LTG was messing with her husband's assignments. That's a big fricking deal and a way to seriously screw up a unit dynamic. That's why people care.

It wasn't just personal business. It was impacting his coworkers. Good riddance.

FWIW

There was a famous fighting unit in Thebes Greece 2000 years ago that was made up of monogamous gay lovers. They had built up a culture that if you failed on the battlefield, your lover would see you and you would be dishonored before their eyes so they were famous for fighting to their death.

Most officers in any branch feel like they are some sort of god, it is ingrained in them when they become officers, sad thing is for this case there are thousands more unchecked

Sounds like he was sending her husband out on assignment halfway around the world so he could be free to nail the wife.

That's some Kind David stuff right there.

Glad he's out.

Yep, that makes it a problem, and if he was doing that, he doesn't have the consenting adults argument to fall back on for sure. I guess I should've read the whole story.

This.

The government email thing doesn't matter very much. Except it makes the investigation easier.

My in laws are both federal contractors with the military, and they only use their secure work emails when emailing my wife.

They are both pretty high up there too. Her mom is a GS-14, and will be a 15 before she retires in 2 years. Her dad was a 15 when he retired.

Maybe being a civilian gives you more leeway in that regard. I mean, a 3 star general should expect to be a held to a higher standard.

That's quite a well-off household. When Mom and Dad are both career FedGov civilian employees, and they both retire at GS-15, that is a very well-off household.

Couples like this one are the reason why the Counties surrounding Washington DC are by far some of the most prosperous areas in our country.

have you ever heard a man say that shite to another man joking or not?
There is so much

on several fronts here.

1.You were propsitioned
2.You have a male horse (because the other explanation is even less likely)
3.You would turn down the gay sects

Truthfully think it was the first, this dude always comes to me an another guy for whatever he needs help with, or to ask random arse questions needlessly. He bypasses my other colleagues just to talk to me and this other guy and randomly asks about us when we aren't here.

It's fricking weird. I'm also white, the nickname is definitely not accurate.

He should be fired and reduced in rank before he retires.
