Sex offender from Golden Meadow files suit over ankle monitor

Phillip Jelks Jr., 31, was charged with aggravated rape in 2005 and pleaded guilty to sexual battery in 2007. He was released in June from the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola after being sentenced by state District Judge Walter Lanier of Thibodaux.
Jelks filed suit Sept. 18 in state District Court in Thibodaux against the state, the Louisiana Department of Corrections and attorney George Ledet Jr., of Cut Off, who represented him in the sexual battery case. He accuses Ledet of not informing him of the consequences of the plea deal.
“Had it involved an ankle monitor after me doing flat 10 years, I'd never (have) agreed to such a plea,” Jelks wrote in the lawsuit.
He claims the ankle monitor placed a hardship on him because it “defamed his character in the public eye” and left him unable to find work. He says he is bipolar, schizophrenic and abused drugs, but that no rehabilitative or work-release program was offered to him while in prison.
A Lafourche sheriff's deputy said in a 2005 affidavit that an 11-year-old boy had reported the abuse to his father. The victim told detectives in a recorded interview that Jelks forced him to engage in oral sex and fondling three times, starting when he was 9 years old

No shite…if a judge even holds a hearing on this shite he should be removed from the bench. I would dismiss his case with prejudice and tell him to get fricked, not by a kid preferably and I would write that in the order.
