What’s the timing on Tuesday for Nola metro/Northshore of Lake Ponchartrain?

Rough stuff, but at least no bone-racking cold with this front?
How will the timing of the front affect watching the Citrus Bowl? Do I need to break out the battery-operated 9 inch portable TV?

With the negatively tilted trough some nice overlapping of term 2 and term 3 of the ageostrophic wind equation over the arklatex on Monday evening.
Terms 2 and 3... you fricking nerd
But Im with you on the diagnosis. Arklatex strikes me as the highest risk area.

Looks like things are proceeding pretty much as expected this morning. We have some early rain ongoing with moisture getting things primed. Maybe the surface low isn't quite as strong as forecast, at least to this point, but it still has decent flow. The hope is that we see just a sloppy mess that limits the top end of this event, but there's a good cap in place that may keep that from happening.
Still, two rounds of storms that could both go severe.
Earlier sounding in Shreveport shows the cap that will have to be overcome by those early storms.
Let's see if that cap can erode early and get some messy storms in an hour or so that could hamper the evening storms. That's the hope right now.

Are schools and government offices shutting down Tuesday?

Pretty safe to say that with these observations we will likely see CAPE higher than modeled.

Remind me again, is that good or bad? And thanks for your (all you mets) patience and service in these threads.
