He means that historically, the Gulf Coast gets more severe weather than normal during an El Nino.

Wish I could understand that.

That image basically is saying that during February in an El Nino the tornadoes today happened pretty much where you would expect them to happen.

Ahhh I kind of interpreted that because of the darker areas and higher numbers is where the nados hit.

Wind is really gusting here in Albany all of a sudden and our damn power just went out to top it off

I'm fine with the chart, I meant the jargon.

Crazy thing about the Pensacola tornado is that it's the same supercell that developed southwest of Lafourche Parish about 3:00 pm this afternoon. Phenomally rare to see a long track tornado that was likely a monster waterspout that traveled well over 150 miles across the Gulf before coming ashore near the Perdido Pass/Flora Bama area and eventually passed through Pensacola

Thread can die now. All the hoopla is over.

You butthurt that it wasn't as bad as they predicted with all the hype?

Ok, I need some help now. I love these threads and followed all day. What happened to the crazy arse tornado activity in the Mandy/Covington/Abita area today? It seemed like several tornadoes were reported to have passed through there with one being very big.

We just got rocked in Headland, AL. About a mile north of the house, was intense.

Seeing reports of a tornado around Panama City and orange beach...is that true?

Panama City, yes. Orange Beach was a few hours ago.

Lurked, posted, lurked some more earlier in this thread. This thread's been interesting. It was fairly intense when it was just kicking off in my part of the world during the day. Those of you in the crosshairs overnight tonight, I wish you the best. Godspeed and I hope to see all of you tomorrow posting on the OT. Then, I hope that we've all made it through okay and immediately start throwing jabs because we all made it and this is the OT; we'll fight.
Seriously, stay as safe as you guys can tonight in Florida and Alabama. Good luck.

Are you retarded? If anything it was as bad or worse.

Have they said anywhere how strong the tornadoes were yesterday? Especially curious about the ones that hit in Prairieville, Paintcourtville, and Convent. I know the Prairieville one couldn't have been very strong...
Posted on 2/24/16 at 6:18 am to Cowboyfan89
Pat Shingleton on WBRZ estimated the one in Belle Rose was an EF-3. That's the same one that crossed into Convent after but not sure if it maintained that strength.
Prairieville's tornado was probably an EF-0 or 1.
I had to go down to Bell Rose's ground zero after it happened and it was complete devastation. I never imagined I would see that in this area. I'm still speechless this morning.
