I know plenty in DFW and the stereotypes are not far off.
7.1 million people in the area. Probably good odds that there will be some stereotypical people here. However, the good, down to earth folks far outweigh those. And a ton of LSU folks here, too.

Girls are pretty.

I moved to Dallas from NOLA after Katrina. I would have to go with Dallas. I hated it for about the first year I lived here since it was the complete opposite of New Orleans but it slowly grew on me. I HATE the Cowgirls just as much as anyone & it can get overwhelming sometime but remember this is a metro area of so many transplants. There are almost 7 Million people in the metro area. Go to any larger sports bar on a game day Sunday & you will literally see 25 different teams jerseys.
There are a TON of Saints fans like me & we have our own Saints only bars that show the Saints game with sound on game day regardless of if the Cowgirls are playing at the same time. The Ticket is the greatest sports radio station anywhere & while they love their team, they make fun of Jerry & the Cowgirls organization every day. If I ever move I will still find a way to listen to The Ticket. Any band you want to see will be here on tour.
I will take Dallas over Houston any day. The women here are off the charts incredible. I am talking about looks only, not personality. We live Uptown & I rarely leave a 3-5 mile radius from my house except to go to work. I have everything I need around me. Yes, the douchebag factor is off the charts I will admit. One day I will make back to NOLA but my vote goes for Dallas in this one.

Ok, you had bad experiences here.
Never had a bad experience in the Houston area...ever. The OP asked which is better and, IMHO, that's Dallas. I just had a friend move back from Hawaii to New York because they didn't like it. Unbelievable. Different places fit different people better. I have nothing against the people that live in the Houston area. I find the DFW area more desirable.

Not a huge Houston fan but each city has its own merits like any large city. I prefer DFW I guess out of habit.

The real debate is Fort Worth or Austin?
Posted on 8/9/17 at 11:06 pm to Slippy
Dallas and it's not even close

Austin has way more going on and is in a superior location, but has some of the worst people. Fort Worth is just kind of sleepy.
Advantage Austin.
Advantage Austin.

Never have been a fan of the black land prairie around Dallas. I prefer north Houston's pine trees.
But JR Ewing and the Cowboys give Dallas that extra mystique.

I spent a few years growing up in Houston before returning to Louisiana. I've visited the DFW areas numerous times. I think both cities are great and I wouldnt blame anyone for moving to either one raise a family. To me, Houston is much easier to navigate because of the way the loop system, toll roads and interstates are laid out. Dallas can get very confusing and will throw off GPS. People in both are very nice, but the Asians in Dallas have terrible attitudes. As far as the outlying burbs, Dallas wins because of places like Plano and Frisco. Residents of both Houston and Dallas should take pride in where they live. Both are major international cities that will remain economic powerhouses.

If I has to make the choice, I'd go with Dallas and live in Fort Worth.

My Houston experience didn't suck. I lived in Kemah right on the water.
My wife is from there (Seabrook)
She preferred it over Dallas, but likes San Antonio (where we live now) over both.
