I live in Houston. I like it, the food is great, careers are great (even if the OFT is having a tough time), and people are really chill.
There's no point in worrying about whether Dallas is "better." Plus if I ever got a chance to start all over I wouldn't be in either city most likely.

I thought about this more last night, and figured the best way to put it is, "You can get in a hell of a lot more trouble in Dallas than you can in Houston."
Take that statement for what it's worth.

Austin has way more going on and is in a superior location, but has some of the worst people. Fort Worth is just kind of sleepy.
Advantage Austin.
Austin is a beautiful woman, until you start peeling away the layers, and you find a big schlong staring back at you.

it it use to be Dallas hands down. but the last 10 years or so lots of money has been pumped into parks, and beautification.
Lots of Louisiana people in Houston, I live near downtown and like it.
Travel during non peak time is no problem.

Memorial is not a school district. Spring branch is. Memorial is in Spring Branch.

I enjoy visiting Austin. Would not want to live there.
Austin is very different from Houston and that is a huge part of the appeal. Two hour drive to get a different vibe .

I'll take San Antonio over both

That's funny. My apologies

Austin would be far ahead both if they had an MLB team.
