People really enjoy it being pitch black at 7am in the morning?

Give me morning light all day.

If you kept DST, the sun wouldn't rise in New Orleans in December until 8:30. And if you were somewhere on the border of the eastern time zone, like Louisville or Chattanooga, it would be almost 9:30. That's some vampire shite if you like that.

To end DST, they wouldn’t have moved the clocks forward back in the Spring.
The time we are in now is the correct time according to the world clock (GMT).
DST was something that’s made up.

It's all made up. The rotation of the earth and its orbit around the sun doesn't care what your clock says.

Other than the initial extra hour of sleep you get in the fall (which you don't get anyway if you have kids), time change sucks. What good is there in it anymore?

And you will be the first one bitching here when it is sun up at 4:30 am and sunset at 7:00 pm...

Your right. We should stay on standard time which we are currently on because it's how our bodies were designed to be.

I much rather the extra morning light thant at night.

Or we just shift 30 minutes and leave it alone

To an extent yes but atleast Louisiana, on standard time it gets dark at roughly 6pm and Daylight at roughly 6am.

Meaning midnight is actually midnight.

So realistically standard time is standard

We should all move to UTC.

Yeah, will it be weird having to be at work at 1 pm and leave at 10 pm or whatever? Sure.

Does it matter as long as the times we do things line up right with the sun? Nope.

To everyone saying something like this, do you work 11-7s at Applebee's or something. I start at 6 am, so I definitely prefer it light out later in the day and not wasted while working. Even if I started as late as 8 am, what benefit would it add? Still spending that time getting up, getting kids up, preping for the day, and driving to work. Only benefit would be not driving in the dark. Whooptie doo, just going to work anyways. Now, unless I head straight home after work, the sun is already setting by the time I get there. Do people stop doing things outside this time of year, or do you prefer doing it in the dark, or do you work a mid shift?

I have these things called lights.

I enjoy getting home, changing and sitting out enjoying the sunset and early darkness in the evening.

I hate daylight till 9 pm because it fricks with my sleep schedule.

I can do anything in the evening now that I can do when we are on dst. Nothing changes for my family. Except we have a better night's sleep and easier time waking in the morning because the sunlight does wonders as a natural alarm clock

I will probably be willing to fight people if they start taking away daylight savings time.

It should ALWAYS be daylight savings time. I want daylight after work/school.

9 pm sunset is in the heart of the summer and has no bearing in this conversation. If time didn't change, could you not still sit outside and enjoy the sunset at around 6:15? How early are you going to bed that would some how change that, and why?

Stop with the whole, "Have these thing called lights," thing. That doesn't make sense, as there is clearly a difference between night/day and the outdoor activities you do, respectively. To all those saying they prefer the extra light in the morning, well, I have these things called lights.

I know people hate it, but we need to change the time in Louisiana.
If you don’t go to daylight savings then late spring and summer the sun is up before 5am.
If you don’t switch back to standard then the kids are at the bus stop in pitch black in the winter.

It would be SIMPLER & more logical to MOVE the start/end times of school during the year with all time Daylight Savings rather than worry about kids standing in the dark at their bus stops.

Anyone with the argument of "I can see on my way to work" = an assbag. 99% of the population does NOT get up to enjoy activities on a daily or weekly basis before 8am. Turn your headlights on you dolts.
Everyone else LIVES for the Happy Hour & after work/school activities. And not doing them at what feels like "late" into the night.

I’m all for staying on daylight savings time. I’m tired of getting screwed out of after work hunting time every November. Ga passed a law keeping us on DST but the asshats in Washington haven’t approved it.
