Lol, that's like an open beer not a bottle of liquor that's been opened but now has the lid on and is in your trunk.

Do you really think you can't drive an opened bottle of booze across town?

If flying, seal tight in empty water bottles, wrap in bubble wrap, then put in gallon ziploc bags in checked luggage. That's how I travel with beer, works everytime.

Are you 15? A capped bottle in your trunk is perfectly fine.

Depends on the state, I know in Florida the open alcohol cannot be in the "passenger compartment" which includes the back seat of a 4 door car. It's perfectly legal to put it in the trunk or truck bed, however. Even if you get caught with it in the car with you, it's just a 150 dollar ticket, they will just check to make sure you're not drunk.

From the same assholes that reply "why u mad shouldn't have broken the law bro" or "how about just obeying the law bro" when someone is ticketed.

I fully fricking realize that there would not likely be an issue if pulled over but it's still illegal. Just asking if there's any legal way that anyone knows of doing this without shipping it separately.

Louisiana law. It is not illegal in your trunk.

quote:

F. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to the following persons or in the following areas:

(1) Any person operating or occupying a motor vehicle who, as a condition of his employment and while acting in the course and scope of such employment, is required to carry open alcoholic beverage containers, provided that the operator or passenger does not consume the alcoholic beverages.

(2) Any paid fare passenger on a common or contract carrier vehicle, as defined in R.S. 45:162.

(3) Any paid fare passenger on a public carrier vehicle, as defined in R.S. 45:200.2.

(4) Any passenger in a courtesy vehicle which is operated as a courtesy vehicle.

(5) Any passenger of a self-contained motor home which is in excess of twenty-one feet in length.

(6) Possession of an open container of alcoholic beverage in the trunk of a motor vehicle.

Not bottles of liquor that have the cap on them.

If that were the case, local/state police could set-up camp near every sporting event tailgate across the country, hand out a zillion dollars worth of fines, and then kick back, relax, and call it a great fiscal year.

If the seal is broken and is in your front seat, it’s absolrely illegal. Open container is defined as no top or seal broken.

Regardless, the trunk is perfectly legal.

I usually keep my booze in the drivers seat with me. If you're white you won't get pulled over.

How did the alcohol get to your destination? Did you have the alcohol police deliver it?
I would say your best bet is either ship it (insured and overnight) or pour it out. No need to take the chance.
