If we are to believe you are born gay or born straight (and I do believe that), how does “questioning” fit in there? The “questioning” category seems to be an admission that somebody is about to make a conscious decision about their sexuality, which is allegedly not possible.......even though Anne Heche, Cynthia Nixon, and Baraaq Obama have all said publicly that they chose their sexuality.

This is dumb. You can be gay, queer, homosexual or whatever you want to call it. But you cannot change your gender or decide what your gender is. You can have the equipment changed but you cannot change the chromosomes in your body.

Those are societal norms, not gender norms.
BTW, gender is not ASSIGNED at birth. It is merely RECOGNIZED according to the genitalia of the newborn.
I have a penis, therefore, I was correctly recognized as a male at birth.
Anyone who states opinions other than that is stating just that: an opinion. There is NO scientific basis to saying there are more than two genders. We are born male and female, with extremely rare cases of people born with two sets of genitalia or no distinct set of either.
People who claim to be otherwise are mentally disturbed and are looking for attention of any kind.

This. Except for the fact that there are XXY females ans XYY Males....Low IQ, and lots of issues, but still are male and female with an extra chromosome, and that cannot be changed at this point in time...

If you are born with a penis and testicles you are a male, and if you are born with a vagina and ovaries than you are female. It is not a hard concept if you believe that there are more than 2 genders or you are a different gender than you were born than you suffer from gender dysphoria a mental disorder and should seek help.

Back when people just used LGBT, I always thought "one of these is not like the other." The first three are sexual preferences, the other is an identity issue. They are categorically different, so why are they being lumped together?

Could not agree more -- there is no questioning. Either you like guys or chicks, but whether you want to acknowledge it or not, you know deep down where your interests lie.
You cannot make the argument that it is not a choice (which I strongly feel it is not a choice), and that you can be questioning. Struggling would be a more accurate term, because I know many gay people who have struggled with it.
