Prisoners should be out picking up trash and working on garbage trucks.
It is ridiculous that we have to pay businesses to pick up garbage.
So you want prisoners to take jobs/businesses away from non-criminals?
I get the idea of prisoners/prisons being self-supporting but doing so removes jobs from the economy.

You ever known anyone in prison or who worked in prison? That shite fricks you up.
Yep. Its home to many.
You get institutionalized and it becomes your norm. Some even thrive.

Build a prison in Montana.....100 ft tall walls.
Drop those guys in....let em figure it out. Drop food in once a day and move on.
That will weed out the garbage.

All states need to go back to this.

No one wants to take jobs from working citizens.
Last I checked we have a pretty substantial unemployment problem.

Look it up when you can. Death sentences, in the long run, cost more than incarceration.
That's because we're doing it all wrong.

I don't trust the government enough to let them kill their own citizens. You might get a crazy behind bars for life instead of killing them but it is worth not killing innocent people.

Weird that his facial expression when told he would never see light as a free man was not even close to what my childs face looked like when we told them they were going to Disney World.

Hard to say no one when that is exactly what the poster I replied to was suggesting.

Well I missed his original post. That's not what I think we should do.
I say go fill all the needed job with prisoner's.

NY state doesn't have the death penalty.
There are federal terrorism charges and the Federal death penalty was on the table. He agreed to a plea deal in order to avoid possibility of the death penalty.

Interesting you listed anal rape as one of the benefits to being in prison.
Because these mentally defective pervs would enjoy anal rape.

Once in the recent past a group of my friends and I had a discussion on what the prisons of the future would look like . My idea was a form of suspended animation . For example if a convicted criminal was sentenced to two years for theft when he was brought to prison the docs would put him on a cot and knock him out with drugs and insert an IV with some type of liquid food that would just barely keep him alive for his 2 year sentence. Once he served his time the docs would wake him and he would be released.
For a life sentence they would sleep and have the food drip until they expired.
No socializing, no watching tv, no escape attempts.
