i will +1 on the Tyrwhitt shirts. I haven't owned a Brooks Bros in a while, but they are known for their quality. Based on your description, that is probably your safest bet.

Neiman-Marcus - "Perfect Shirt" is my #1 option.
Good variety of patterns, high quality materials and much better cut than Brooks Brothers for slim/athletic cut people IMO.
Brooks Brothers are great shirts, but always have to take them to the tailor so they don't fit like a damn parachute.
J Crew has great casual shirts if you are tall, have a few of their Medium Tall shirts and love them, especially at their price point.

There really is a lot of truth to that and it’s pretty weird. If you aren’t wearing polos too big for you that fit like a square box, and khakis with the crotch at your knees so you walk like a duck you might be gay.
I attribute it a lot to the basic blue collar mentality out there that doesn’t want to be shown up, but would prefer everyone just dresses down and doesn’t stand out. I swear, I’ll wager you get fewer looks if you wear camo while not in the woods than nice clothes which are actually in style and that fit your body.

Probably gonna get down voted to hell but in my experience Brooks Brothers shirts don't last very long. The collars and edges start to fray much to soon when you consider the price. The Dillard's Gold Label shirts are always on sale and they seem to wear significantly longer and stay looking nice for the duration.
Regardless, shirts should be rotated out at the first sign of wear or sooner because that shite looks terrible otherwise.
