It happened to my friend at Home Depot. He got an item which is priced at $100. However, when he scanned it, it showed only $1.00 on the screen. What should he do in this situation?

1. Pay and Leave. (Upvote)
2. Notify the manager. (Downvote)

If he just pays and leave, will he be in trouble if they find out? Thanks.

He should notify someone if he is an honest person. I downvoted you for other reasons though.

Act like he didn't notice that the decimal moved and complete the purchase... Then send friend and family in to purchase more

Then return them, sans receipt, for $100 store credit?

I would ask for a cart, then go clear the shelf. But that's just me.

Make an attempt to notify the person helping people at the self check out. If nobody is there or they’re playing on their phone, pay and leave.

Not only do I pay the price that comes up, but I do it with cash so there's no paper trail with my info.

I have actually done this before. The store gave me a big discount though.

Return them to a different store that sells them for $129 and has better items that you want.

And price match the better items at checkout.

Just walk out without paying. They won't do anything to you.

Some posters are probably sitting in the HD parking lot hoping the OP specifies the item. So they can do all this shite

I pay and leave. If I'm stopped, I plea ignorance. I they really try to push the issue I tell them that I assumed it was my employee discount since I'm now apparently employeed as a cashier at Home Depot.

I hate self-checkout with the intensity of 1,000 suns. I routinely scan shite multiple times without it registering, all while the cashier - who ought to be doing this shite in the first place - watches and doesn't make a move. I put the item in my bag and go on to the next. frick a self-checkout!

The people who work for HD don’t get paid enough to care. If you pay the listed price and they don’t have to interact with you, they’re happy.
